Davian’s journey is one such story, filled with progress, personality, and beautiful surprises. From developing stronger communication skills to growing confidence in understanding routines and social expectations.
“He has a lot more expressions now,” Davian’s mummy proudly shared as she reflected on one of “superpowers” Davian has developed since starting at Bridging the Gap for almost 4 years.
For mummy, this growth has been especially meaningful, as it has helped Davian engage more deeply and interact more meaningfully with the people around him. Through his increasing expressions and communication, Davian is now able to connect with others more confidently in his everyday experiences.
As the interview continued, Davian’s daddy shared how social stories have greatly supported Davian’s learning journey.
“Social stories have helped him greatly… he understands,” daddy said with pride.
Mummy also shared how visual schedules and social stories help Davian prepare for different situations and daily routines. She beautifully described it as, “It’s like navigating an adventure beforehand for him.”
Davian’s parents expressed deep gratitude for the ongoing support and guidance the team has provided for both Davian and their family over the years.
When reflecting on Davian’s journey in just a few words, his parents shared, “Full of surprises”.
“Unexpected.”
They lovingly described the experience as, “It’s like a Kinder Joy egg. We don’t know what to expect, but it’s a lot of fun and a lot of surprises.”
