Heart in Action: BtG Incentive & CSR Trip 2025
From 28 to 30 June 2025, the team at Bridging the Gap embarked on a deeply meaningful journey to Bangkok, Thailand — not just as a reward for a year of dedication, but as a reaffirmation of our core values: compassion, service, and community.

Rest. Reflect. Reconnect.
The trip began with a sense of excitement and gratitude. It was an opportunity for the BtG team — therapists, educators, and support staff — to rest from the intensity of day-to-day responsibilities, reflect on the impact they’ve made, and reconnect with one another beyond the walls of the classroom.
We stayed at Queensland Hotel Bangkok, a newly opened 4-star hotel located in the heart of the city. The warm hospitality and thoughtful amenities made it the perfect base for our trip. Here, we shared meals, explored the local culture, and took time to recharge. The following two days were filled with vibrant R&R — from shopping and sampling local delicacies to relaxing, enjoying drinks, and even letting loose on the dance floor. It was a celebration of camaraderie and well-earned rest. From street market adventures to morning coffees and heartfelt conversations, these moments were not just enjoyable — they were necessary. In the work of early intervention, taking care of ourselves is how we sustain the energy to keep caring for others.

Serving Beyond Borders: BtG CARES at Baan Nokkamin Foundation

A central purpose of the trip was our BtG CARES initiative — a community outreach programme that reflects our belief that every child, no matter where they are, deserves to feel loved, seen, and supported.
Upon landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport, we began the day by going marketing and shopping for all essential donations — from hygiene items and snacks to educational supplies — carefully selecting what would best serve the needs of the children.

Our team visited the Baan Nokkamin Foundation (Canary House Foundation), an organisation that cares for orphans, street children, and underprivileged youth. What greeted us was not just a shelter, but a home — a place filled with hope, laughter, and the quiet resilience of children who have lived through more than most.

We began the day with a warm welcome from the staff and children. The BtG team had prepared a series of engaging activities:

- 🎶 Interactive songs and movement games that got everyone smiling and dancing together

- 🎨 Art and craft sessions where children created colourful wristbands and took home handmade keepsakes

- 🎁 Essential donations, including school supplies, hygiene items, rice, snacks, and sports equipment

- 🍟 McDonald’s Happy Meals were served to every child — a joyful surprise that brought excitement and delight to their faces
Each interaction was intentional. Our team made the effort to speak with every child, sit with them, play beside them. In doing so, we were reminded that connection goes beyond language — it’s felt through presence, eye contact, and shared laughter.
One of the most moving moments was the spontaneous participation in a group song and dance. Our team led familiar tunes and simple choreography that invited every child to join in — some shyly at first, others with infectious energy. It became a space of joy and connection, where even the quietest child found a rhythm, a smile, or a moment of shared laughter. For many of us, it was emotional and humbling. These children gave us more than we gave them: a deepened sense of purpose and a renewed gratitude for the work we do.

Celebrating the Heart of the Team

On the first evening of our trip, we gathered for dinner at Krua Apsorn, a Michelin-recognised, family-run restaurant famed for its authentic Thai cuisine and beloved by even the Thai royal family. The simplicity of the exterior belied the gem of a Thai kitchen hidden within — where we savoured unique dishes made from cherished family recipes. It was a special way to unwind and celebrate the shared mission that brought us together. Over beautifully plated dishes and warm toasts, we celebrated not just achievements, but the quiet acts of love that happen daily behind the scenes.

It was an evening of laughter, gratitude, and shared dreams. And as we clinked our glasses, we reaffirmed the spirit that ties us together: we are more than a team — we are a family.

“We came to give — but received something far greater: renewed purpose, deeper empathy, and the gift of human connection.”
Beyond the Classroom, Beyond the Trip

This trip to Bangkok was more than a reward. It was a journey that allowed us to live out our mission in new ways. To serve not only with our skills, but with our hearts. To reach beyond our classrooms and touch lives across borders.
We returned to Singapore not only refreshed, but transformed — ready to pour even more love into the work we do every day at Bridging the Gap.
