Six Grateful Years: Bridging the Gap’s 6th Anniversary Spedtacular Family Carnival Day

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step…”

Few years back, Bridging the Gap’s journey began as a heartbeat of our clinical director, Janice Tay, to make a difference in the lives of children with diverse needs. What started as a heartbeat has transformed into heart work over the years. This year, Bridging the Gap has made a new milestone as it reached its 6th year in providing intervention and hope to young individuals.

This 6th anniversary celebration was special as it made yet another core memory for every child and their families. Last 14 May 2023, Bridging the Gap organised an exclusive “Spedtacular Family Carnival Day” at Canberra Plaza, 133 Canberra View Singapore for the families of BtG children.

Endless Rides, Endless Fun, Endless Bonding

The carnival was set up at Level 1 of Canberra Plaza. There were different rides in the outdoor space such as the Mini London Train, Battery Rides, Battery Boat, Tanker Carousel and Inflatable Playland. But not just that, E-Game Stalls are opened in the indoor space too for some fun carnival games and cool prizes! It’s hard to say which station was the crowd favourite as the parents together with their kids went around all rides and games and did sure have a blast. By the way, all rides were unlimited, and all the families can enjoy them as much as they want!

Aside from the unlimited rides, a free-flowing Uncle Jimmy’s Ice Cream is up for the grabs too! There is nothing that makes an ice cream sweeter than when it is shared together as a family!

The fun doesn’t end there! After the families enjoyed the unlimited rides and ice cream, everyone was gathered for a raffle draw. The crowd cheered for every winner whose name was fortunately drawn from the box. Each winner received some amazing prizes!

Made More Special…

This was even made more special, because on this day, the entire world honours all the beautiful mums. It was Mother’s Day 2023. All the extraordinary mothers on that day were given a simple yet beautiful, thoughtful surprise — some lovely flowers personally prepared by Janice Tay together with her husband, Max Lee. She encouraged her fellow extraordinary mums that the journey may be tough but they were never alone, and that they are all doing a great job raising their beautiful children.

It was heartwarming to see joy radiating through the smiles of parents and children during this celebration. This anniversary celebration was a success not because of the grand scheme of putting up a carnival day, but because of seeing families enjoying together and making memories that will last. Bridging the Gap believes that the core support system of every child is their FAMILY. And that’s what this anniversary is all about.

Team BtG Works Hard, Plays Hard

Shortly after the Spedtacular Family Carnival Day, Bridging the Gap Teachers went on a beautiful yacht adventure. The team had a wonderful time sailing and chasing sunsets, digging in on some delicious barbecue, splashing on the sea, kayaking and went back with a beautiful night view of the Singapore coastline filled with the city lights. It was a refreshing team bonding and refuels the team to continue pursuing our passion of making a difference in this world – one child at a time.
