“Kindness” and “Love”- Bridging the Gap team is very welcoming.

“Definitely, it’s the high five… that was the first big interaction.”

For Joshua’s mum, this simple moment meant so much more than a high five. It marked the beginning of a meaningful connection, a milestone that filled her heart with hope and excitement during their journey with Bridging the Gap.

Looking back, she fondly shared, “He started to be more aware… connection is the main thing.” What may seem like small steps to others have been incredibly meaningful milestones for Joshua and his family. Each interaction, each moment of awareness, and each connection made has been a victory worth celebrating.

When asked what BtG has given her family, the first word that came to mind was simple yet powerful: “Love.”

“When Josh comes here, he’s happy,” mummy shared with a smile. She spoke warmly about the teachers, describing them as “very welcoming,” and added, “I can sense the kindness… just love.”

For Joshua’s family, BtG has been more than a place for learning. It has been a place where Joshua is embraced for who he is, a place where he feels safe, supported, and encouraged to connect with the world around him.

Reflecting on their experience, mummy described it as a Journey of Exploration”, a journey of Joshua discovering his own way of learning, building relationships with others, and growing alongside his peers.

And throughout this journey, one word continues to resonate: “Connection.”

From a simple high five to meaningful interactions, the connections Joshua has built have become treasured milestones for his family. They are a reminder that every small step forward can lead to something extraordinary.
